You are cordially invited to attend the 8th China International Consumer Goods Fair (CICGF 2009), to be held in Ningbo, China, from June 8 to 12, 2009.

CICGF, co-sponsored by Ministry of Commerce, PRC and Zhejiang Provincial People's Government, is the largest professional consumer goods fair in China, which ranks only second to Canton Fair among all the exhibitions sponsored by Ministry of Commerce. It is held at Ningbo International Conference & Exhibition Center in June every year.

In the past seven successful sessions, several thousand enterprises from more than 30 Chinese provinces and municipalities as well as from abroad exhibited, attracting thousands of buyers from all over the world.

With an exhibiting space of 90,000 sqm, 4000 booths will be set up at CICGF 2009, which will be divided into the following 8 exhibiting sections: household textiles and garments; home appliances and electronics; furniture and office supply; sports, travel and recreation products; articles of daily use; arts-crafts and gifts;foodstuffs; overseas exhibits and trade service. Well-known enterprises, famous brands and new products from home and abroad will attend. It will be an ideal occasion for business people from all over the world to exchange information and to promote business.

Free shuttle buses will be available for overseas visitors between Shanghai Pudong International Airport and Ningbo, prior to and during the fair.

There are three advantages for the fair:
--Manufacturing base. Zhejiang Province, of which Ningbo is a part, is China's as well as the world's largest consumer goods manufacturing base. 70% of the exhibiting enterprises are within hours' or even minutes' driving distance, making it much easier for buyers to explore.

--Excellent natural deep-water port, with cargo throughput ranking second both in China and in the world, and with 190 container routes to over 600 ports. All the world's 20 top container shipping companies have offices in Ningbo.

--Good exhibition infrastructure and excellent service. The exhibition center now has 120,000 sqm expo space, and the future plan is to reach the goal of 200,000 sqm for temporary and 800,000 sqm for permanent. Easy access to exhibitors online, free on-site interpreter service and internet service, Muslim and Christian prayer spaces, reasonable hotel charges, free shuttle bus service, etc., all make the fair such a nice one to attend.

]]> 2008-11-06 <![CDATA[Egyptian Trade delegation to Attend the 8th CICGF]]> http://www.cicgf.com/en/emagzine/index.php?id=27 Days ago, a CICGF delegation visited Cairo, Capital of Egypt, and met with Doctor Alaa Ezz, Secretary General of the Federation of Egyptian Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Li Xinhua, Vice Secretary General of the CICGF Organizing Committee, who is also the Vice Director of Ningbo Foreign Trade & Economic Cooperation Bureau, briefed on the preparation of the coming 8th CICGF session, and offered a cordial invitation to the Egyptian business circle.
 
Mr. Alaa Ezz, who participated the 6th CICGF in 2007, has a deep impression on the scale and level of the fair. He was pleased to see the fast growing of the trade between Egypt and Ningbo (amounted to USD 314 million in the first ten months of the year, up by 36.2% over the same period of last year). He said the Federation will actively promote the fair to the Egyptian enterprises, and will organize a trade delegation ( including buyers and exhibitors) to attend.
 
During their stay in Cairo, the CICGF delegation also called on the Chinese Economic and Commercial Counselor¡¯s Office, part of the Chinese Embassy in Egypt, and got support from the Office on the CICGF promotion in Egypt.
 

 

]]> 2008-12-08 <![CDATA[International Sourcing Groups will be Present at the CICGF]]> http://www.cicgf.com/en/emagzine/index.php?id=28 Recently, members of the CICGF organization committee made a two-day ¡°Visit to International Sourcing Groups¡± in Shanghai. They visited over 10 headquarters of international sourcing groups, including Carrefour, Auchan and TESCO-Hymall, and harvested fruitful achievements. All visited groups expressed their desires to continue attending the CICGF to develop more suppliers despite the impact of the global financial crisis.
 
Hymall Supermarket has become a member of Tesco Group (G.B.), which is the pioneer retailer in Britain, one of the top three global retailers and owns around 3,700 stores in the world. Ms. An Shuping, manager responsible for the Shanghai area said, Hymall will attend the CICGF in the name of TESCO for the first time; through this opportunity Hymall will gain good publicity in China and present a brand-new Hymall to more suppliers.
 
Auchan, world-famous large supermarket of about 50-year history, will again join the CICGF. Commercial Director of General Goods Ms. Anne Su told us, today 35% of textile and garment goods sold in Auchan are procured through Ningbo port. Due to the impact of the global financial crisis, China has recently raised the export rebates for textile goods, which is good news for Auchan as well as other buyers. ¡°Ningbo is a famous hometown of garments. I hope to find more energy-saving garment manufactories at the 8th CICGF and promote the environmental protection development as well,¡± she said.
 
Mr. Ge Tuofu, director of Shanghai office of Japanese Trial Company said, China is one of Trial¡¯s major sourcing markets, although they haven¡¯t established any store in China at all; he also told that, at the 8th CICGF the company will not only set the exhibition booth as before but also arrange to give a sourcing promotion; CICGF is a perfect promotion platform for more suppliers to know Trial company.
 
In addition, business giants, like Carrefour, Wal-mart, and Atico Int¡¯l, also expressed their wills to continue sending sourcing teams to the CICGF.
]]> 2009-02-19 <![CDATA[CICGF Provincial Preparatory Meeting Held in Wuyi, Jinhua]]> http://www.cicgf.com/en/emagzine/index.php?id=29 Provincial preparatory meeting for the 8th CICGF was held in Wuyi, Jinhua on February 13th, 2009. Mr. Chen Rufang, general secretary of CICGF organizing committee and vice director of Zhejiang Provincial Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Bureau, delivered an important speech on the preparation of the 8th CICGF at the meeting. Mr. Ding Haibin, vice general secretary, office director of CICGF organizing committee and vice director of Ningbo Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Bureau, Mr. Liu Zhouqun, vice office director of CICGF organizing committee division and head of trade promotion department of Ningbo Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Bureau, and staffs of Ningbo Foreign Trade Service Center attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Mr. Ding Haibin delivered a brief presentation on the previous session, and then gave a specific introduction of the preparation of the 8th session. Under the guiding thought of ¡°continuous improvements at every session¡±, the organizing committee formulated working scheme and targets at an early time and has made better scheme and implemented measures with efforts centering on the requirements of ¡°maintaining scale, optimizing structure, upgrading grade and attracting attendees¡±. More than 10 overseas organizations from Thailand, Italy, Germany, the Philippines and Taiwan region have confirmed to attend the fair as exhibitors, and buyers from United Kingdom, Spain, India, Egypt and the Philippines, together with well-known sourcing groups like Walmart, Auchan and Tesco, have confirmed to attend the fair as purchasers.
